Year 4 SCIENCE Unit 5 "Our planet" (4º curso)

Estimados padres o tutores:

Vuestro hijo/a está estudiando la Unidad 5 de su libro de Conocimiento del Medio Macmillan Natural and Social Science 4. El tema de esta unidad es nuestro planeta (Our planet) y en ella va a:


•    estudiar los cuerpos celestes que forman nuestro sistema solar y las fases de la luna
•    entender lo que es un eclipse solar
•    comprender que la existencia del día y la noche tiene relación con la rotación de la Tierra sobre su eje
•    comprender que las estaciones del año tienen relación con la rotación de la Tierra alrededor del sol
•    conocer la diferencia entre un mapa y un globo terráqueo
•    aprender qué son el Ecuador, los meridianos y los paralelos (longitud y latitud)
•    aprender y nombrar algunas características de las estaciones
•    aprender la diferencia entre clima y tiempo atmosférico, y nombrar y describir los cinco climas principales de España
•    escuchar, leer y comprender una historia sobre un eclipse solar
•    escribir un texto sencillo sobre el clima de la zona en la que vive

Además, en la investigación de esta unidad va a descubrir por qué hay estaciones en la Tierra y dirá los chants titulados Solar systems para afianzar el vocabulario clave. Animad a vuestro hijo/a para que los escuche y los recite con vosotros y luego, mirad juntos el Picture dictionary en las páginas 158 y 159 del libro.
